    We are seeking a Director to facilitate all weekly aspects of the center, including but not limited to directing staff, ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed with regards to DSS and local governing standards and ensuring a safe, healthy and positive environment for staff, children and parents.

    Responsibilities:

    Monitor students' progress and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems

    Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities and policies and students' behavioral or learning problems.

    Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies, procedures and programs to carry them out

    Plan, direct and monitor instructional methods and content of educational, vocational or student activity programs

    Direct and coordinate activities of teachers, café support staff, or administrators at TLC

    Prepare and maintain attendance, activity, planning, accounting or personnel reports and records for officials and agencies, or direct preparation and maintenance activities.

    Recruit, hire, train and evaluate primary and supplemental staff and recommend personnel actions for programs and services

    Teach classes or courses, or provide direct care to children

    Determine allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials and equipment and authorize purchases

    Determine the scope of educational program offerings and prepare drafts of program schedules and descriptions to estimate staffing and facility requirements

    Review and evaluate new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with state, local and federal regulations and recommend any necessary modifications

    Prepare and submit budget requests or grant proposals to solicit program funding.

    To carry out any other reasonable duties, assigned by supervisor, within the overall function of the job.

    Qualifications:

    Evidence of a strong, mature, growing and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.

    Integrity, credibility, and a commitment to OVBC Mission.

    Maintain an ABSOLUTE commitment to confidentiality regarding any information related to or originating from all ministry departments.

    Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

    Strong command of English language with excellent grammar skills; both written and verbal communication is essential.

    Talking to others to convey information effectively.

    Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

    Using mathematics to solve problems.

    Education/Experience:

    The Center Director must be at least 21 years old and must meet one of the following requirements:

    Have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree from a state-approved college or university in early childhood education, child development, child psychology or a related field that includes at least eighteen credit hours in child development and/or early childhood education

    Have a bachelor's degree from a state-approved college or university in any subject area, six months experience working with children in a licensed, approved or registered childcare facility

    Have an associate degree from a state-approved college or university in early childhood education, child development, child psychology or a related field, that includes at least eighteen credit hours in child development and/or early childhood education with six months' work experience in a licensed, approved or registered childcare facility

    Have a diploma in child development/early childhood education from a state-approved institution or a child development associate credential (CDA) and one-year work experience in a licensed, approved or registered childcare facility

    Have a High School diploma or GED with 3 years' experience in a licensed, approved or registered childcare facility. One year shall include supervision of childcare staff.
