JOB TITLE:
Director of Clinical Training and Quality Assurance
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Clinical Training and Quality Assurance is a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Qualified Therapist (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist) licensed in the state of practice. This individual is responsible for the professional development and clinical training of staff and the administration of the agency’s Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Assurance (QA) program. This role works closely with clinical leadership and administrative staff to support ongoing compliance, development, and delivery of safe, effective patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Active RN, PT, OT, or ST license in the state of practice.
3–5 years of experience in healthcare or home health preferred.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of community health principles and practices.
Familiarity with agency policies and regulatory standards.
Strong leadership and training skills.
Ability to make independent decisions and judgments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to foster cooperation and collaboration among staff.
Experience evaluating and mentoring clinical staff.
Understanding of probationary tracking and evaluation.
Experience with QA/PI initiatives preferred.
Ability to function under pressure and manage stress effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement clinical training programs and benchmarks.
Oversee orientation, continuing education, and skills development for clinical staff.
Support hiring, evaluation, and, when needed, termination of service personnel.
Ensure compliance with agency policies and current regulations.
Provide education on care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient planning.
Lead and manage the agency’s Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Assurance (QA) program.
Participate in policy development and ensure regulatory compliance (Medicare, Medicaid, accrediting bodies, etc.).
Provide guidance and support to staff on job-related concerns and professional development.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reports, and PI meeting minutes.
Monitor patient care records to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Educate staff on proper use and maintenance of clinical equipment.
Lead or participate in case conferences, in-services, and staff meetings.
Participate in community education, research, and special projects as assigned.
Act as a resource and role model in professionalism, conduct, and performance.
Ensure staff have access to training materials, supplies, and ongoing education.
Available during business hours and after-hours as needed.
Assist in developing and implementing the agency’s emergency management and PI plans.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily office-based with occasional field visits for training and observation.
Moderate physical activity; must be able to bend, lift, and stand as needed.

Reports to: Administrator
Supervises: Works in conjunction with Director of Clinical Services to guide clinical staff
