Patty Baker Humane Society Naples is accepting applications for our Director of Donor Engagement role. The Director of Donor Engagement will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with PBHSN donors, ensuring their continued support and engagement. This will involve developing and implementing strategies to attract new donors, as well as stewarding existing ones to build lasting partnerships. The Director of Donor Engagement will work within the development and marketing team to set fundraising goals and develop plans for donor stewardship, as well as conduct grant research, apply for appropriate grants, and ensure timely grant reporting. This position is supported by the Donor Engagement Coordinator. Schedule and hours required will vary.

Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of 125-150 major gift prospects, including stewardship of current major donors
Implement a comprehensive donor development plan for assigned constituents
Identify prospective donors and areas of interest and prepare proposals to secure funding
Review prospect research (including private foundation 990 tax returns) and develop prospecting strategies, matching prospects to funding opportunities
Cultivate, solicit, and steward assigned constituents
Document constituent activities in CRM
Manage upper levels of giving society
Identify donors with potential to upgrade annual giving
In conjunction with CDO and the CEO, identify and manage one-time capital and programmatic giving opportunities
Manage robust planned giving program, including development of materials and campaigns dedicated to planned giving
Identify potential planned giving prospects and prepare individualized materials for those prospects
Assist with other fundraising and development events and initiatives as requested
Spearhead the development and creation of the annual Impact Report
Plan and execute the annual Guardian Circle Luncheon or a similar donor recognition event
Conduct grant research and application process. Work with the Donor Engagement Coordinator to find new grant opportunities and track reporting requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (marketing, communications, hospitality/events management, human resource management, non-profit management, business/public administration). Ten years of fundraising experience may be substituted for a degree
CFRE or other fundraising certification strongly preferred
Five years of fundraising experience, including planned giving, with a minimum of two years of front-line fundraising experience.
Demonstrated ability to close six-figure gifts
Knowledge of best practices in planned giving
Excellent networking and donor engagement skills
Engaging public speaking skills
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work some nights and weekends, as needed
Compassion and concern for domesticated animals; knowledge of animal welfare community and issues preferred
Knowledge of Naples, FL fundraising environment preferred
Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish preferred but not required
