    Title: Director of Engineering – Industrial Process & Automation Systems
    Location: U.S. (Relocation Reimbursed – Preferred)
    Salary Range: $140,000 – $165,000

    Overview

    We’re seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary engineering, service, and shop organization dedicated to delivering engineered-to-order process and automation solutions. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operational excellence, team development, and innovation across project delivery functions.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead and manage engineering, service, and production teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

    • Collaborate with leadership and sales teams to evaluate customer opportunities and develop technical proposals.

    • Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.

    • Develop and mentor engineering staff through coaching, performance management, and goal setting.

    • Drive continuous improvement in design standards, project management, and operational processes.

    • Review and approve estimates, designs, and technical documentation, including P&IDs, flow diagrams, and equipment layouts.

    • Manage departmental budgets, capital projects, and tooling/equipment resources.

    • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

    • Stay current with emerging technologies, equipment, and industry trends to enhance solution capabilities.

    • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on innovation and accountability.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (MBA or master’s a plus).

    • 7+ years of leadership experience managing technical or engineering teams delivering custom or project-based solutions.

    • 5+ years of hands-on design or process engineering experience in the Food & Beverage or Pharma industries.

    • Demonstrated success in resource management, budgeting, and cross-functional leadership.

    • Knowledge of fluid processing, sanitary systems, or automation is required.

    • Background in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and structured project delivery methodologies (Stage-Gate, Agile, or Waterfall).

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

    • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
