Director of Engineering needed for one of NYC's  top local 3 electrical contractor: Salary up to $220k including local 3 benefits
Key responsibilities include developing departmental goals, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and overseeing project timelines, while requiring a strong engineering background, leadership experience, and excellent communication and project management skills. 
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the electrical engineering team; develop departmental goals and strategies; recruit and train new staff.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for projects. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Strategy and Planning: Define and communicate the technical vision and strategy for the department; develop long-range plans and prepare budgets.
- Compliance and Quality: Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and all local, state, and federal requirements. Review and approve designs, specifications, and installation procedures.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Relations: Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and other departments.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated on new technological developments and incorporate relevant innovations. Provide technical guidance to the team. 
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: 5-10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or management role, is often necessary.
