    Director of Extended Education and Assessments

    (Homeschool, Online, and International Programs) Full-Time, 12-Month Position Reports to: Assistant Head of School

    Position Summary

    The Director of Extended Education serves as the primary leader for the school's homeschool extension, online, and international student programs, providing educational support, resources, and community to families in these areas. This position provides visionary and administrative leadership for the school’s extended educational platforms, ensuring each operates with excellence, accountability, and alignment with FBA’s mission: to serve Christ, shape minds, and send leaders (live, learn, and lead).

    The Director works collaboratively with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs, and other administrators to ensure program quality, alignment with the school's mission, and compliance with state and federal regulations, including the management of the financial aid process and Step Up Scholarship program. The Director plays a vital role in expanding the school's impact by creating flexible educational options that honor parental authority while providing Christ-centered academic excellence and community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Development and Leadership

    Provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight for FBA’s Homeschool, Online, and international programs.

    Ensure each program reflects FBA’s mission, maintains academic excellence, and nurtures spiritual growth.

    Develop program policies, calendars, and communication systems for participating families and students.

    Oversee faculty and staff associated with the extended education programs.

    Monitor student progress and academic integrity across online and homeschool platforms.

    Support international students’ academic, social, and cultural transition to FBA and the U.S. educational system.

    Stay current on trends in homeschool, online, and international programs.

    Assess program effectiveness through family feedback, student outcomes, and enrollment trends.

    Contribute to school accreditation and improvement initiatives related to the extended education program.

    Admissions and Enrollment

    Partner with the Director of Admissions to recruit, enroll, and retain students from homeschool, online, and international backgrounds.

    Collaborate on admissions criteria and placement for students entering extended education programs.

    Maintain accurate records of student status, course completion, and program participation to ensure timely updates and accurate reporting.

    Testing Coordination and Guidance (HSE and FT Enrolled Students)

    Advise students and families on standardized testing strategies, including PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.

    Coordinate on-campus testing programs and communicate testing calendars to students and families.

    Interpret test scores and provide guidance on test prep resources and retake decisions.

    Submit test scores to colleges on behalf of students as appropriate.

    With the student services team, monitor testing accommodations for students with documented learning needs.

    Stay current on testing policy changes and college test-optional/test-flexible policies.

    Provide information on CLEPs, dual enrollment, and other credit-earning opportunities.

    Finance and Compliance

    Oversee financial aid applications, reviews, and communication with families.

    Coordinate with the Business Office regarding Step Up for Students scholarships, billing, and payment plans.

    Maintain compliance with state, accreditation, and visa-related requirements for international students.

    Prepare program budgets and monitor expenditures in a responsible manner.

    Curriculum and Instruction

    Ensure curricular alignment between FBA’s on-campus and extended learning programs.

    Partner with the Instructional Specialist and Principals to maintain academic rigor and biblical integration.

    Coordinate the selection and approval of courses offered through the extended education program.

    Support families in developing appropriate learning plans for students with diverse needs and learning styles.

    Provide resources for tracking student progress, documenting learning, and maintaining portfolios.

    Advise extended education families on high school transcript preparation, credit requirements, and college readiness.

    Coordinate standardized testing options and academic assessments for extended education students.

    Spiritual Formation and Community

    Foster a Christ-centered community among homeschool, online, and international families.

    Organize discipleship, chapel participation, and community engagement opportunities.

    Mentor students and families toward spiritual maturity and Christian worldview development.

    Communication and Reporting

    Maintain regular communication with families, faculty, and administration.

    Provide annual reports to the Assistant Head of School on program growth, student performance, and strategic goals.

    Represent FBA Extended Education in promotional and community outreach events.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the ability to articulate and model a Biblical worldview.

    Agreement with the school's statement of faith.

    Agreement to be an active member of First Naples Church.

    Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; Master's degree preferred.

    Minimum of 5 years teaching or educational leadership experience.

    Personal experience with or deep understanding of extended education philosophy and practice.

    Strong organizational and project management skills.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    Proficiency with educational technology and program management systems

    Preferred:

    Background in curriculum development and instructional design.

    Knowledge of state homeschool laws and compliance requirements.

    Training in educational leadership or program administration.

    Compensation and Terms

    This is a 12-month, full-time position with salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
