Director of Facilities - Recreational Organization - Base Salary to 75k/year - Charlottesville, VA

• Our client, a local recreational complex, is looking to bring on a Director of Facilities. This person will be both a hands on and operational facilities professional having to take care of items such as vendor relations, budgeting, project management and fixing basic repairs as needed. The perfect fit would be someone with commercial, or fitness center facilities experience specifically with pools is a huge plus. Work hours for this role are typically 7am-3pm but there are on-call and emergency hours that happen dependent on projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a facility risk management plan to mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and exposures.
• Serves as the chair of the internal risk management committee to ensure all properties meet safety and regulatory standards and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance
• Performs routine inspections of all property and facility conditions and initiates repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Coordinates with external agencies such as fire, health, building departments, etc. to ensure building compliance with federal, state, and local building codes.
• Maintains security of the building through opening/closing checklists, security systems, and camera systems.
• Ensure that all vendors and contractors uphold YMCA standards in cleaning, maintenance, and security to maintain a safe and high-quality facility in a cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in management of commercial wellness centers and pools
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and other maintenance related areas.
• CPO or AFO certification (required within 90 days of employment)
• Boiler certification (required within 90 days of employment)

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 68k - 75k/year range plus benefits.
