A highly respected professional services firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead its finance and accounting operations across the firm. This executive-level role offers the opportunity to drive financial strategy, oversee operational effectiveness, and support long-term business growth in a dynamic, high-performance environment.
**$200-$240K + discretionary bonus**
**Hybrid 3 days/week in office
The ideal candidate will be an experienced CPA with a strong background in finance leadership within legal, accounting/consulting, or similarly professional services industries. This position manages a large team of finance & accounting professionals.

- Lead all finance and accounting operations including reporting, budgeting, treasury, audit, cash flow, fixed assets, and accounts payable
- Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
- Develop and manage annual budgets and provide regular financial analysis and variance reporting
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on filings and compliance; stay current on applicable tax laws and regulations
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of partner compensation in collaboration with internal teams
- Strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and reporting structures
- Manage banking and vendor relationships; represent the firm in financial matters as needed
- Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements to drive efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and department heads to align financial strategies with business goals
- Mentor and lead finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and professional development
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
- Prior experience in legal, consulting, or professional services industries strongly preferred
- CPA required; MBA or advanced degree highly desirable
- Deep expertise in general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, audit, and internal controls
- Proven success in managing finance teams and delivering operational improvements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
