Director of Human Resources - Logistics - Base Salary to 130/year - Walton, KY
Our client is looking for a Director of Human Resources to oversees and manage the implementation of human resources initiatives within the organization, ensuring adherence to relevant federal and state laws. The Director of Human Resources offers guidance and strategic direction to the executive team, operations leaders, department heads, and HR personnel.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement human resources strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all HR policies and procedures.
Create a positive work environment that addresses employee concerns and fosters engagement; utilize annual employee surveys to gather feedback and propose enhancements to the employee experience.
Monitor human resources data and company performance metrics (KPIs) to identify trends and make informed recommendations to management.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints and collaborate with operational leadership to communicate findings.
Work alongside the Directors of Quality, Risk, and Safety to ensure compliance program alignment across the organization.
Manage compensation policies to ensure compliance and competitiveness in the market, including communication of annual raises and merit calculations to senior and operations management.
Oversee the employee performance management program, focusing on employee development and succession planning.
Coordinate with employee benefits providers on plan offerings, participate in annual renewals, and inform employees about changes and enhancements to benefits.
Assist in the selection of HR consultants, insurance brokers, payroll providers, and other external partners necessary for HR functions.
Maintain fiduciary responsibility by monitoring and evaluating the costs of employee benefit programs.
Develop employee relations practices that promote high morale and improve retention rates.
Establish training and development initiatives to support ongoing education and career advancement for employees.
Evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and programs, identifying cost-containment opportunities.
Direct report preparation and maintenance to fulfill departmental needs, including periodic updates for top management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
7+ years related experience with increasing responsible management positions within Human Resources.
Experience with human resources functions for multiple locations/divisions, desired.
Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, benefits, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development.
Demonstrated experience in a union environment required.
Demonstrated organizational ability and prioritized sense of urgency.
Demonstrated competence in use of technology to enhance performance and record keeping.
Thorough knowledge of employment law and compliance matters that impact human resource administration.
Project management experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate using technology in the workplace through software such as Teams, Outlook Excel etc.
Success in strategy development and implementation.
Able to travel to all company locations as required.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 100k - 130/year range plus bonus and full benefits
