Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources across the organization.
This position partners closely with ownership and leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support business goals while maintaining a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and leadership
Participate in weekly and quarterly leadership planning meetings
Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with company goals
Support workforce planning and organizational development
Assist with succession planning and leadership development
Employee Relations
Manage employee relations matters
Conduct investigations and resolve workplace concerns
Guide managers through performance management processes
Oversee disciplinary action, coaching, and terminations
Support conflict resolution efforts
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
Maintain HR policies and procedures
Oversee unemployment claims and workers' compensation matters
Manage employee records and HR documentation
Compensation & Benefits
Oversee compensation planning and wage reviews
Manage benefits strategy and broker relationships
Evaluate benefits offerings and recommend improvements
Support annual benefits renewals
Talent Management
Oversee recruiting and onboarding initiatives
Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
Develop retention and employee engagement strategies
Assist with employee training and development programs
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5+ years of Human Resources experience
Previous HR leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong employee relations background
Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
Excellent communication and leadership skills
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
