    A major law firm is seeking a Director of Billing to provide strategic leadership for its billing function across multiple offices. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing billing operations, developing best practices, leading a large team, and partnering with firm leadership to improve operational efficiency and support revenue goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and oversight for billing managers, supervisors, and billing professionals
    • Direct all aspects of the billing lifecycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant invoicing
    • Develop and enhance billing policies, workflows, and operational best practices
    • Serve as the primary resource for complex billing matters, client requirements, and escalated issues
    • Oversee electronic billing operations and ensure compliance with client billing guidelines
    • Partner with accounting, collections, finance, IT, and other administrative teams to improve processes and support firm initiatives
    • Analyze billing performance, identify trends, and provide reporting to leadership
    • Lead team development through coaching, performance management, and succession planning
    • Drive process improvements, technology enhancements, and operational efficiencies

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of legal or professional services billing experience, preferably in a large law firm
    • 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and/or large billing teams
    • Strong knowledge of legal billing, e-billing, client guidelines, and revenue cycle management
    • Experience with legal financial systems such as Elite 3E, Aderant, eBilling Hub, IntApp, or similar platforms
    • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
