    Director of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs

    Location: Remote, US | Reports to: Chief Growth Officer

    A leading national organization in educator preparation is expanding into new states — and we’re looking for a strategic policy professional to help guide that growth. This role is ideal for someone who understands the legislative process, thrives in a research-driven environment, and knows how to turn policy into action.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    • Track and analyze state-level legislation and regulations impacting teacher certification

    • Deliver clear, strategic insights that inform executive decision-making

    • Identify entry points for expansion through statutory and regulatory pathways

    • Oversee relationships with external lobby teams to ensure aligned messaging

    • Brief internal stakeholders on key policy developments and risk areas

    • (If experienced) Engage directly with legislators and state agencies

     

    What You Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, education policy, law, or related field

    • 3+ years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government affairs (state-level preferred)

    • Strong analytical and communication skills

    • Ability to translate complex policy into actionable strategy


    Bonus Points For:

    • Experience managing lobbyists or advocacy partners

    • Existing relationships with education policymakers

    • Comfort navigating both policy development and direct advocacy
