    Job description

    A prominent Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a top-notch Director of Nursing (DON) to join their expanding team in the Hollywood, Florida area.

    The DON will join an established multi-specialty outpatient surgical team, and be responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. They will assume responsibility as department lead of the OR, Preop and PACU as well as for overseeing the facilities quality improvement program, risk management, infection control and staff education. The successful candidate will:

    Provide leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility policies & procedures.

    Demonstrate respect for co-workers and leadership and develop positive working relationships within departments.

    Provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.

    Recognize legal policy limits and individual practice.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Must have at least three (3) years of working experience in an outpatient surgical facility and be knowledgeable in all aspects of surgical nursing (Pre-Op/PACU/Circulation).

    Experience as an OR Manager/Supervisor is required.

    Certificate and/or Advanced Technical Training in OR preferred.

    Must have previous experience with Orthopedic and Spine surgeries.

    Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to identify problems and resolve issues using a systems approach.

    Skills in customer service, computer literate, clinical familiarity with Operating Room, Endoscopy, Recovery/PACU, Preoperative/Stage II Recovery and Central Processing.

    Infection Prevention experience.

    Must have demonstrated administrative ability in surgical nursing situations and be skilled in dealing with routine as well as emergency procedures.

    Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

    Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.

    Current RN Licensure in the State of Florida.

    At least one (1) year of administrative and supervisory experience required.

    Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.

    Should be skilled in organization and coordination of efforts and personnel and in the maintenance of interpersonal relationships.

    Must be able to show good judgment and initiative and be alert, adaptable and determined to detail.
