We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing and medical assistant teams across both sites.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary range: $123,000 – $156,000 annually

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and mentor Nurse Managers, MA Managers, and Chronic Care Nurse Leads, ensuring quality care delivery and staff development
    • Direct oversight of nursing and medical assistant workflows, staffing, and performance across both sites
    • Champion nursing excellence by enabling staff to practice at the highest level of their licensure and skillset
    • Oversee Chronic Care Management and serve as the lead contact for the ACO
    • Manage infection control, occupational health processes, and the Vaccine for Children Program
    • Develop and implement onboarding, training, and continuing education for RNs, LPNs, and MAs
    • Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to staffing, quality, and patient outcomes
    • Partner with organizational leadership on initiatives tied to clinical quality, compliance, patient access, and operational efficiency
    • Guide readiness for external audits and regulatory surveys (Joint Commission, NCQA, DPH, FTCA, HRSA)
    • Participate in budgeting and strategic planning with the executive team
    • Review patient satisfaction data and implement improvements to enhance care experience
    • Run the annual employee flu clinic and participate in broader health system initiatives
    • Travel between Waltham and Brighton sites and attend leadership and clinical meetings regularly

    Requirements

    • Active RN license in Massachusetts (required)
    • Master’s Degree preferred or Advanced Practice Training Preferred
    • Minimum 5–10 years RN experience with at least 2–3 years in supervisory or nurse management roles
    • At least 2 years of primary care/community health experience
    • Skilled at managing teams within complex healthcare systems
    • Current BLS certification
    • EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole) strongly preferred
    • Flexibility to attend off-hour and weekend meetings as needed
    • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and reducing health disparities
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills; experience working with diverse patient populations
