As a Director of Nursing with Executive Home Care of Fairfax, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our clients through comprehensive assessments, care planning, and oversight of care delivery.
Position Overview
The Director of Nursing will serve as a registered nurse and administrator and is responsible for providing clinical oversight, conducting client assessments, and ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented. The Director of Nursing works closely with caregivers, clients, and families to deliver high-quality care while maintaining compliance with state regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Conduct initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate their health and personal care needs.
· Develop individualized care plans based on client needs, preferences, and medical conditions.
· Review and revise care plans regularly to ensure they remain current and effective.
· Provide clinical guidance and support to caregivers, ensuring they deliver care in accordance with the care plan.
· Oversee and supervise caregivers, conducting regular evaluations of their performance and adherence to care plans.
· Provide training and support to caregivers on specific client care needs, safety protocols, and best practices.
· Act as a resource for clients and their families, offering education and support related to care needs and medical conditions.
· Communicate regularly with families to update them on the client’s care and address any concerns or questions.
· Ensure all care provided complies with state regulations and Executive Home Care policies.
· Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client assessments, care plans, and caregiver performance evaluations.
· Ensure continuity of care by maintaining open communication with all parties.
· Maintaining an ongoing liaison with the governing body, the professional personnel, and staff;
· Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities;
· Ensure the policies, procedures and directives/programs approved by the governing body are implemented and met.
· Planning and coordination of business operations, provision of services, infection control, emergency management preparation, and quality improvement and performance improvement efforts.
· Participate as needed in recruiting, hiring and on boarding personnel while maintaining personnel records, processes and requirements;
· Ensure appropriate supervision at all times;
· Establish and maintain positive liaison relationship with the community and outside organizations relevant to the organization;
· Appoint alternate administrator, to act as the administrator, during times when the administrator cannot be present.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of VA.
Experience:
Minimum of 4-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in home care, geriatrics, or a related field.
Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans.
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN).
