    Position Summary

    The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the clinical oversight and management of nursing services. This role works closely with administrative leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality care delivery. The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse who leads with integrity, attention to detail, and compassion, and who thrives in mentoring and supporting a growing nursing team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical Leadership

    Direct and supervise nursing staff to ensure care is delivered in accordance with professional standards, physician orders, and agency policies

    Coordinate patient care, including assessments, care plan development, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes

    Provide ongoing clinical guidance, support, and mentorship to nursing staff

    Quality Assurance & Compliance

    Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Veterans Affairs requirements and Minnesota Home Care Statute 144A

    Participate in licensure surveys and assist administration in addressing findings, corrective actions, and policy updates as needed

    Team Management & Development

    Assign and coordinate staff schedules to ensure appropriate caseload coverage and efficient use of resources

    Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment

    Oversee staff education, training, in-services, and competency evaluations

    Administrative & Operational Duties

    Prepare reports and maintain accurate clinical documentation and records

    Manage nursing and medical supply inventory

    Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, healthcare providers, clients, and families

    Investigate and resolve issues related to patient care or employee well-being in collaboration with office administration, including required documentation and follow-up

    Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care delivery

    Qualifications

    Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota

    Previous experience as a Director of Nursing required

    Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

    Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing practices and regulatory compliance

    Valid driver’s license
