    Salary: $180,000.00 + Bonus

    Position Overview

    The Director of Operations oversees, optimizes, and scales all operational functions across construction and services divisions. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. The Director of Operations develops and executes operational strategies that drive efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth while reinforcing a strong culture of safety, accountability, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company business objectives

    • Partner with executive leadership on short- and long-term growth planning

    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, safety, and service quality

    • Establish, track, and report on KPIs tied to operational performance and profitability

    Project and Field Operations

    • Oversee daily construction and service operations across multiple projects and teams

    • Ensure effective project execution through scheduling, resource allocation, and budget control

    • Review and approve project bids, estimates, and contracts to ensure alignment with company standards

    • Implement and enforce quality control and safety programs across all job sites

    • Perform project management and review activities to ensure results align with contract values

    • Partner with field leadership to train, develop, and mentor future leaders

    • Engage directly with customers to build strong relationships and long-term partnerships

    • Establish the organization as a preferred vendor across all markets and service offerings

    Team Leadership and Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, site supervisors, and operations staff

    • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence

    • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing operations talent to support growth

    Financial and Business Management

    • Collaborate with finance to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls

    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational margins

    • Analyze operational data to support decision-making and strategic planning

    • Support business development efforts through operational insight and client engagement

    Compliance and Safety

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local construction regulations and industry standards

    • Champion workplace safety and environmental responsibility initiatives

    • Oversee training and certification programs for field personnel

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

    • 10+ years of experience in construction or services operations, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

    • Proven experience managing complex construction projects and multi-site operations

    • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management

    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

    • Proficiency with construction management, budgeting, and project management software

    • Partner with the President on initiatives to strengthen and grow project backlog

    • Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions

    • Begin building relationships with existing customers

    • Assess asset utilization across civil and hydrovac operations

    Days 61 to 90

    • Implement plans to address identified operational gaps

    • Present a 90-day report to executive leadership, including:

      • SWOT analysis

      • Action and corrective action plan

      • Personnel assessment

      • Training and onboarding recommendations
