Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid; up to 50% travel)
Compensation: $150,000–$185,000 base

The Opportunity
This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic and hands-on Director of Operations who will own manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics across a fast-growing construction materials platform.
You’ll be responsible for driving throughput, quality, cost control, and service levels across third-party production facilities, suppliers, and distribution networks. This leader will balance executive-level planning with floor-level execution—building scalable systems while ensuring daily operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
Manufacturing Leadership
Oversee daily operations across multiple third-party production facilities, suppliers, and warehouse locations
Ensure output meets engineering specifications and applicable industry standards
Reduce lead times and production costs through scheduling discipline, process control, and vendor management
Partner with Engineering on new product introduction (NPI), design validation, and process optimization
Improve throughput, yield, and on-time performance across facilities
Supply Chain Management
Lead end-to-end supply chain planning, including forecasting, production planning, and capacity modeling
Ensure raw material availability through proactive procurement strategies
Optimize inventory to balance working capital, service levels, and production continuity
Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, and service agreements
Implement risk mitigation strategies (dual sourcing, safety stock planning, contingency logistics)
Logistics & Distribution
Oversee inbound/outbound freight operations and carrier performance
Ensure on-time, damage-free delivery to distributors, contractors, and OEM customers
Optimize warehouse operations, material handling, and finished goods storage
Improve transportation efficiency through route optimization and freight consolidation
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent initiatives to eliminate waste and reduce cycle times
Standardize SOPs, quality checkpoints, and work instructions across facilities
Identify automation and technology upgrades to enhance efficiency and safety
Drive data-backed operational improvements across the value chain
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Own compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry-specific standards
Lead safety programs, audits, and corrective action initiatives
Manage operational risk related to equipment reliability, material variability, and workforce planning
Financial & Strategic Leadership
Develop and manage operating budgets and capital expenditure plans
Analyze production metrics, material usage, logistics costs, and margin performance
Support long-term facility expansion and capacity planning initiatives
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
Lead fulfillment managers, warehouse teams, and customer service personnel
Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Strengthen alignment between operations, engineering, sales, and customer service
You’d Be a Great Fit If You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or related field
8–12+ years of operational leadership experience in manufacturing environments
Background in construction materials, sheet metal, plastics, or process-driven production settings
Proven success improving throughput, reducing scrap, and managing cost-sensitive operations
Strong expertise in production planning, logistics, equipment maintenance, and supplier management
Experience leading multi-site or distributed manufacturing operations
Analytical fluency with production metrics, cost modeling, and margin analysis
ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred)
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically
Preferred Experience
Sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, extrusion, or related processes
Familiarity with ASTM, ICCES, or other construction material compliance frameworks
Lean or Six Sigma certification
Experience supporting sales teams serving distributors, contractors, or OEM customers
