    Position Overview
This position is best suited for a highly experienced construction professional who operates with the mindset of a senior project manager while leading operations at a broader organizational level. This leader has a proven background overseeing multiple projects simultaneously across a variety of scopes including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, re-roofs, and service or repair work. They are comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on problem solving, stepping into projects when needed to evaluate risk, troubleshoot field challenges, and guide teams toward practical solutions.

The role provides direct oversight of superintendents and foremen while serving as a senior operational resource for project teams. Success requires someone who can analyze project performance in real time, identify potential issues before they escalate, and implement corrective strategies to protect schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Strong judgment, accountability, and the ability to navigate competing priorities across multiple projects are essential.

In addition to production oversight, this individual plays a key role in preconstruction and project planning. They partner closely with estimating and sales to review scopes, identify gaps, evaluate logistics, and develop execution strategies before projects begin. Their ability to assess risk, foresee operational challenges, and align field teams accordingly is critical to successful project delivery.

Equally important is the ability to build and strengthen field teams. This leader will recruit, mentor, and develop superintendents and foremen while creating systems that support scalability and operational consistency. Whether refining an existing structure or helping grow operations, they bring a thoughtful and strategic approach to team development.

A strong safety mindset is also central to the role. The Director of Operations reinforces safety culture across all job sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while promoting accountability and proactive risk management in the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Production Planning & Execution
Lead operational planning across multiple active construction projects, ensuring efficient execution from pre-construction through completion. Conduct site visits, project reviews, and final inspections as needed to support successful outcomes.
    • Field Leadership & Development
Provide leadership and mentorship to superintendents and foremen, serving as a senior operational advisor on complex jobsite challenges. Foster accountability, strengthen leadership capabilities within the field teams, and support continuous improvement in both technical performance and team development.

    • Preconstruction Collaboration & Project Strategy
Partner with estimating and sales teams during pre-construction to review bids, assess scope coverage, evaluate project risks, and develop practical execution strategies. Apply critical thinking to identify potential challenges early and ensure projects are properly set up for success.

    • Subcontractor & Vendor Management
Oversee subcontractor and vendor relationships, including scope alignment, performance expectations, and coordination with internal teams. Ensure partnerships support project quality, schedule requirements, and operational efficiency.

    • Safety & Compliance
Champion jobsite safety by reinforcing company safety standards, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Promote proactive safety planning and accountability across all field teams.

    • Technical Problem Solving & Project Oversight
Serve as the escalation point for complex field issues, applying strong analytical thinking to resolve problems and protect project outcomes. Evaluate underperforming projects, implement corrective actions, and guide teams through challenging operational scenarios.
