  • Responsibilities

    Director of Operations – Production and Mining

    Senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multi-site U.S. plant, and mining operations, ensuring strong performance across safety, production, cost control, quality, compliance, and financial results in a 24/7 operating environment. This role leads site teams, drives operational excellence, and partners cross-functionally to execute business strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead operations across multiple plants, and mining/quarry sites
    • Ensure achievement of KPIs including production, cost, quality, delivery, and working capital
    • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance
    • Own operating budgets, cost control, and support P&L performance
    • Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and succession development
    • Partner with Sales, Logistics, Engineering, and corporate teams to align execution
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, efficiency, standardization)
    • Develop, coach, and mentor site leadership teams and direct reports

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related technical field
    • 7+ years of leadership in plant operations, mining, or heavy manufacturing
    • Experience managing 24/7 industrial or multi-site operations
    • Strong financial acumen with P&L and budget responsibility
    • Background in cement, lime, quarry, mining, or similar heavy industry preferred
    • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
    • Ability to work in industrial environments and travel up to 40%
