    Job Title: Director of Packaging

    Reports to: Cheif Production Officer

    Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000

    Description:

    The Director of Packaging is a full-time, salaried position responsible for the overall packaging operations at Hendler Family Brewing. Primary focus will be placed on ensuring efficient operation of our packaging lines and associated machines while hitting all production deadlines. The Director of Packaging will be a member of the leadership team and participate in the planning, development and execution of key business objectives and infrastructure projects associated with the overall brewery’s long-term and short-term business plans.

    This position will work closely with the Director of Production and Director of Engineering and Maintenance to ensure good working order of all equipment and help to streamline and optimize line efficiencies, beer quality, raw material management, and line losses. A clear vision for retooling the packaging line and understanding of product flow and packaging design will be required to update and optimize the existing infrastructure.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Leadership and Management:

    Provide direct supervision to the Packaging Manager and Packaging Leads

    Foster a collaborative environment while setting clear priorities and managing time effectively in response to company demands.

    Provide leadership development opportunities for team members.

    Set and uphold a standard of accountability for team members.

    Consult as a key stakeholder in equipment purchases as well as any reimaging or repurposing of existing equipment or facility.

    Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

    Production & Maintenance Expertise:

    Oversee the efficient and safe operation of our packaging lines

    Identify and resolve equipment, production, package, facility or process issues in conjunction with production and engineering teams.

    Manage and prioritize projects, preventative maintenance, and daily equipment upkeep.

    Oversee the development and communication of standard operating procedures for packaging equipment.

    Safety & Employee Development:

    Ensure all employees adhere to industry-standard health and safety guidelines.

    Maintain a culture of safety.

    Participate in the brewery safety committee

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of ten years of relevant leadership experience

    Minimum of five years of relevant packaging experience

    Experience designing or implementing and installation of a packaging line

    Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other relevant trade skills.

    Experience with engineering and project management software.

    Experience with capital management projects.

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

    Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.

    Physical work includes climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc.

    Brewery environment:

    Conditions can run from wet, hot and cold conditions, depending on season.

    Ability to work in frequently loud environments.

    Ability/knowledge to safely work with chemicals present in the brewery.

    Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift and/or move over 50 pounds with or without assistance.
