    About the Role:

    We are seeking an experienced Director of People Operations to lead and scale the operational infrastructure that supports our employee benefits and compliance programs. This role is highly process-driven and serves as the internal subject matter expert for benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and plan governance.

    The Director will oversee the end-to-end administration of employee benefit programs, manage relationships with vendors and carriers, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate plan documentation and audits. This role partners closely with all GMi departments and external brokers to ensure programs operate efficiently and compliantly.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead conflict resolution and employee relations efforts

    Oversee administration of all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary plans.

    Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, IRS cafeteria plan rules, and applicable federal and state regulations.

    Manage relationships with benefits brokers, third-party administrators, carriers, and external vendors.

    Oversee nondiscrimination testing and Section 125 plan audits.

    Ensure compliance with talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee development programs.

    Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

    Analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve processes.

    Lead documentation of policies, procedures, and operational workflows.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

    Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with leadership roles preferred.

    Construction experience is a big plus

    Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.

    Deep expertise in benefits compliance, including ERISA, ACA, Section 125, and HIPAA.

    Demonstrated experience with plan audits, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory reporting.

    Strong operational mindset with proven process design and documentation skills.

    Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
