A fast-growing self-performing contractor is seeking a Director of Project Controls to lead cost controls, scheduling, reporting, and project analytics across multiple campuses. This leader will refine and complete an already partially established project controls ecosystem, mentor a developing team, and drive consistent, data-backed decision-making across operations, finance, and project management. Remote with travel twice a month.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mature company-wide project controls processes, tools, and reporting standards.
- Own earned value management, forecasting, and schedule/cost integration.
- Produce consistent monthly reporting and executive summaries.
- Partner closely with operations, finance, PMs, and field teams to ensure accurate project data.
- Mentor and develop project controls staff; help elevate high-potential individuals.
- Guide scheduling (P6) efforts; manage or supplement with SMEs as needed.
- Oversee ERP data alignment and development of dashboards and analytics tools.
- Identify risks and performance trends early through data analysis.
Qualifications
- 12+ years in project controls, cost/schedule management, or project management.
- Strong understanding of cost forecasting, EVM, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Vista, SAP) and advanced Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and build buy-in.
- Leadership experience coaching technical staff.
- Background with a self-performing contractor (electrical/GC) preferred.
- Primavera (P6) knowledge strongly preferred; SME not required.
