    Our client is seeking an experienced Quality & Engineering Director to lead both quality engineering operations across two precision machining facilities, located in Fort Collins, Colorado and Cody, Wyoming. 

    This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise — ideal for someone who thrives in ISO 9001 and AS9100 environments and can drive excellence in both quality systems and engineering performance.
     
    You will oversee all quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while guiding the engineering team in product and process development to ensure efficiency, precision, and customer satisfaction.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and develop the Quality and Engineering teams across two manufacturing sites.

    • Oversee all quality assurance, quality control, and process engineering activities, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.

    • Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), internal audits, CAPAs, and customer requirements.

    • Drive root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

    • Oversee product development, process optimization, and new product introductions (NPI).

    • Ensure precision and consistency in all machining processes, inspection methods, and engineering documentation.

    • Collaborate with leadership, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues and maintain high quality standards.

       

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment

    • 5+ years in a leadership role

    • Experience managing quality for manufacturing facilities (ideally multiple)

    • In-depth knowledge of machining processes (CNC milling, lathes, etc.), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and precision measuring tools.

    • Expertise in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

    • Aerospace experience

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

    • Project management skills.

    • Proficiency with quality management software and ERP systems (MTM) preferred.

    • Technical knowledge in metal fabrication is preferred.

    • Experience with CAD systems preferred.
