Director of Retail Strategy and Direct to Consumer (DTC) – Job Duties
- Lead the operational launch of the first owned flagship retail store and create a scalable blueprint for future locations
- Own the end-to-end eCommerce experience, driving conversion, mobile-first performance, and brand storytelling
- Oversee DTC growth strategy with a focus on customer acquisition, retention, and performance metrics
- Partner with wholesale and marketing teams to design branded fixtures and POS displays that improve sell-through
- Guide visual merchandising strategy across retail stores and wholesale partners
- Oversee pop-up retail, mobile stores, and branded booths at major industry events
- Leverage omnichannel consumer data to inform product strategy and geographic expansion
- Anticipated travel up to 5 days a month
Director of Retail Strategy and Direct to Consumer (DTC) – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)
- Prior experience leading Retail and Direct to Consumer strategy for an apparel or lifestyle brand
- A track record of launching and scaling brick-and-mortar retail locations
- Hands-on ownership of eCommerce platforms such as Shopify or Shopify Plus
- A strong command of digital performance metrics, conversion optimization, and customer behavior insights
- A natural eye for visual merchandising and fixture design that keeps in-store brand presentation fresh, relevant, and memorable
- Experience executing pop-ups, retail activations, and trade show booth environments
- Proven ability to manage complex projects across vendors, partners, and internal teams
- A collaborative approach to supporting wholesale partners through in-store execution
Director of Retail Strategy and Direct to Consumer (DTC) – Benefits for You
Your base salary for this Director of Retail Strategy and Direct to Consumer role will be $145,000 to $185,000, depending on experience. Your compensation also includes a performance-based bonus tied to eCommerce growth and retail launch milestones.
