Title: Director of Sales & Marketing
Shift: Primarily on-site when not traveling; standard business hours
Salary: $95,000 base salary plus profit sharing, depending on experience
Director of Sales & Marketing Role: This role will lead our client's global sales growth, market presence, and brand positioning through strategic, customer-focused initiatives. The Director oversees a dynamic team and aligns sales goals with production capabilities to drive revenue and elevate the customer experience.
Director of Sales & Marketing Responsibilities:
Develop and lead a high-performing sales team through motivating, coaching, and training
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales department
Lead digital marketing efforts including website management, SEO, social media, and email campaigns
Oversee promotional activities such as trade shows, advertising, and the creation of marketing collateral
Serve as a cross-functional liaison to align demand forecasting, inventory, and product distribution
Manage the sales pipeline to ensure consistent new business and successful lead conversion
Champion new products and influence improvements to drive profitable and sustainable growth
Establish and execute pricing, margin, and volume strategies across all product lines
Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets while tracking and refining performance strategies
Employ a consultative sales approach to build long-term, value-based relationships
Penetrate existing accounts to maximize margins while reducing management time and costs
Act on strategic items beyond formal responsibilities to support company leadership
Director of Sales & Marketing Reporting Relationships: The Director of Sales & Marketing reports to company leadership and oversees a team of sales and marketing professionals.
About You:
Possess a minimum of five years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in manufacturing or chemicals
Hold at least two years of experience in a leadership role, ideally within a privately held company
Maintain a Bachelor’s degree, with advanced degrees or credentials considered a plus
Demonstrate a proven track record of training, developing, and effectively hiring sales talent
Exhibit a strong understanding of digital tools including SEO, PPC, and social media platforms
Utilize effective negotiation skills to realize product value rather than relying on price-based selling
Apply well-honed listening and problem-solving skills to overcome objections and close sales
Show strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Display advanced PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and CRM environments
Maintain a self-motivated, self-directed, and collaborative "team player" mentality
Travel domestically approximately 50% of the time with occasional international travel
Commit to being on-site at the facility during non-travel periods
