    Supply Chain Director (Manufacturing)

    Overview
    The Supply Chain Director is accountable for ensuring seamless metal inventory flow across two manufacturing facilities located approximately three hours apart. This role ensures customer delivery commitments are met through integrated forecasting, production planning, scheduling, inventory management, logistics, and cross-functional coordination. The position leads a multi-site organization of ~40 employees, including 5 direct reports, and partners closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Quality, Technical, and Procurement teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead monthly forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to align sales demand, production plans, and procurement requirements

    • Manage supply chain organization across two manufacturing locations with multiple direct reports

    • Own and oversee sales order entry processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer purchase orders

    • Ensure effective production planning, detailed scheduling, and inventory accuracy across all plant operations

    • Manage outside servicing partners to ensure sufficient capacity and capability to meet production requirements

    • Ensure outbound logistics planning and execution, including freight spend control, lane capacity, and on-time delivery performance

    • Lead processes for aged, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory management

    • Coordinate long-term operational plans that align sales, operations, and procurement strategies

       

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, production planning, or operations within a manufacturing environment

    • Experience in metals or heavy industrial manufacturing strongly preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree required

    • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience working cross-functionally in matrixed, multi-site, or global organizations
