    Full Time Position: Full-Time

    Typical Hours/Week: 30-40+

    Starting Pay: $15.25 - $16.00 per hour (depending on certifications: CPR/1st Aid, MAT, and/or CPI)

    General Purpose and Objective of Position: The Skills Coach position’s general purpose is to provide effective and efficient daily direct-care services to the organization’s customers (program participants). During their scheduled shifts, Skills Coaches routinely provide supervision, training, and assistance to all assigned customers, which primarily includes, ensuring that the customers’ Individual Plans of Care are strictly followed. At a minimum, direct-care services may include, but not be limited to, supervision, training, documenting, and assistance with: shopping, house-hold cleaning/maintenance, meal preparation, medication assistance, personal care, toileting, ambulating, community inclusion activities, transportation, and accessing community resources.

    Legal Requirements:

    This position requires that the employee be at least 18-years-old.

    This position requires that the employee present, upon hire, documentation that meets the requirements of the federal I-9 form.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience Requirements:

    This position requires that the employee possess basic computer skills and software knowledge for documentation purposes; and smart-phone possession and usage is a must.

    This position requires that the employee possess at least high-school-level reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

    This position requires the employee to hold a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, safe operational vehicle with current insurance, and the ability transport program participants is a must.

    This position requires that the employee possess light-janitorial/housekeeping knowledge and experience.

    This position requires that the employee possess other basic equipment experience, such as, vacuum cleaner and kitchen appliances.

    This position requires that the employee possess meal-planning and preparation experience.

    Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration Requirements:

    This position prefers a high school diploma or its formal equivalent, but does not require it. And while a high school diploma (or formal equivalent) is preferred but not required, this position does require that the employee possess, at a minimum, high-school-level reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

    This position requires that the employee obtain and maintain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification.

    This position requires that the employee obtain and maintain BHD/DD Medication Assistance certification.

    This position requires that the employee obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

    Cognitive/Verbal/Physical Requirements:

    This position is cognitively, verbally, and physically intensive; and requires stamina and endurance that can handle extended periods of: problem-solving, interacting and communicating with others, sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs. solo for shopping and cleaning, and up to 200lbs. with assistance for transferring people to/from wheelchairs, etc.), bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting, bending at the knees, turning around, stooping, crouching, balancing, talking (on the phone and in-person), typing, writing, reading, computing, and arithmaticing for the duration of a work assignment (approximately 95-100% of the work day). This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak, and comprehend the English language at the minimum of a high-school-level. This position requires near- and far-sighted vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires shift-flexibility; as shift duration is regularly between four and sixteen hours per day, and can be extended (depending on the daily work-load).
