    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Echo is looking for an Electro-Optical Quality Control Technician from the greater San Diego area to join our team. The right candidate will be mechanically adept and have previous experience quality control and final testing experience. Position requires attention-to-detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. This position provides technical support to the manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure production goals of the organization are met.

    PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Responsible for final testing and quality control of hybrid microscopes.
    • Evaluating and signing-off on microscopes received from the production line.
    • Assisting in assessing microscope subassemblies and components that are received from vendors or returned to stock.
    • Testing of electromechanical and optical products including ability to test and align optics/optical path, electrical checks, software/network checks and lubrication/oil removal.
    • Works from technical diagrams, schematics, written and verbal instructions.
    • Builds or sets-up equipment, conducts tests, collect data and calculate results.
    • Performs operational and fault isolation testing.
    • May assist engineers in projects and research & development.
    • Uses equipment including oscilloscopes and specialized test apparatus.
    • Documents operational activities on appropriate paperwork.
    • Knowledge of circuit boards and electronic equipment.
    • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
    • Perform other necessary job-related duties and responsibilities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM THE JOB:

    • HS diploma or equivalent plus minimum 4+ years of related experience.
    • Experience with standard tools and shop equipment.
    • Experience using computers and office equipment.
    • Experience with manufacturing/quality methods preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize and work independently or in a team.
    • Must be authorized to work in US without sponsorship.
