    PRODUCT SPECIALIST - MICROSCOPY

    We are an award-winning, fast-growing company dedicated to improving microscopy. Our unique products are redefining microscopy for life science research.  Our company has been built around a singular vision: to rethink traditional microscope design. Every aspect of workflow, usability, and performance have been pushed to create a more modern and powerful product. 

    We are seeking a top-performing life science professional based in the greater San Diego area. Top candidates will be motivated and skilled in fluorescence microscopy and live cell imaging. In this position, you will interact with customers at both the pre-sale and post-sale stage and provide technical support to our own sales team. This position reports to the Director, North American Sales.

    THE JOB:

    • Support both the Echo sales team and external customers by answering questions, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting, identifying, and understanding product performance issues, training, and similar customer support related activities.
    • Understand and be proficient in Echo's current and new product technologies and applications.
    • Assist new product launches by organizing demonstration system shipments to sales team representatives and prioritizing new product training based on sales needs and demands.
    • Execute successful product demonstrations remotely or onsite from our San Diego headquarters or onsite at customers' facilities.
    • Assist with onsite customer installations and difficult technical application situations.
    • Image customers' samples and optimize data collection technique.
    • Collaborate with team members on product applications and product development.
    • Generate scientifically based training manuals, technical brochures, and support pamphlets to educate end users and promote Echo products.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • Exceptional presentation skills to explain and demonstrate sophisticated technical products.
    • A fast learner who understands the needs of today's life science researchers
    • Cultivated strong relationships in research, biotech, and pharmaceutical institutions.
    • Engage and communicate effectively within the Echo sales team.
    • Understand business competitors and market conditions.
    • Able to nurture leads for product opportunities.
    • Familiarity with key academic research and biotech accounts within the region.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Education: BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent, Master's degree preferred
    • Extensive practical/lab experience, and minimum 5 years in technical sales field
    • Ability to travel overnight (domestic) an average of 20 percent of the time.
