Discovery Senior Living is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our home office team in Bonita Springs, FL.
_ POSITION SUMMARY:_
This position will be responsible for processing resident billing for Discovery Senior Living managed communities. Responsible for generating resident billing in a timely and accurate manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes billing and collection for all assigned payer types, tasks include process claims, document billing and collection activity within the client system, perform patient account analysis, problem-solve, and complete denials management activities. Performs Accounts Receivable management and follow-up of all outstanding accounts by prioritizing in accordance with Richter methodology
- Participates in accounts receivable reviews with the client as requested by management staff
- Completes billing and collection for all assigned payer types, tasks include process claims, document billing and collection activity within the client system, perform patient account analysis, problem-solve, and complete denials management activities. Performs Accounts Receivable management and follow-up of all outstanding accounts by prioritizing in accordance with Richter methodology
- Participates in accounts receivable reviews with the client as requested by management staff
- Communicates and respond to inquiries by client staff, co-workers, and other party representatives within twenty-four hours of the request
- Prioritizes and manages time to accomplish project goals and expectations
- Communicates status of projects to Manager/Administrator on a regular basis
- Participates in project status communication with the client as requested by the project manager
- Identifies and escalates issues, at-risk accounts, database errors, communication, and payers to direct supervisor
- Stays up to date on Medicare laws and regulations
- Meets stated goals associated with the assigned workflow
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Processes accounts payable according to Agency policy, posts expense and income to appropriate accounts.
- Prepares entry forms for general ledger.
- Posts all payments in cash payments journal.
- Manages accounts receivable and collection activity.
- Manages credit and collection activities on past due accounts; participates in collection activities of problem accounts.
- Completes all required insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid forms in a timely manner.
- Bills Medicare daily and updates tracking forms
- Compiles and completes all statistical reports as requested by the Administrator.
- Transmits Oasis data each month in a timely manner
- Makes sure that the daily reporting documentation is accurate and up to date each day.
** QUALIFICATIONS:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years experience as a coordinator or office manager, preferably in the health field.
- Should be a skilled organizer able to manage office files, log books and assist with staff schedules.
- Two years’ experience as a payable’s manager, preferably in the health field.
