Job Description

The FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE HANDYMAN assists the Construction Supervisor with all construction and maintenance at Whittier, Downey, La Habra, Lakewood, Atlantic, Pacific Place, RPV, Chino Hills and OP locations when assigned. Will ensure scheduling of all work and keep a record of all repair and construction completed at each location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works on facility maintenance on a daily basis in a timely manner.
• Discusses weekly schedule of handyman repairs to be completed with supervisor.
• Available to answer repair and maintenance questions from facilities via cell phone and email during and after business hours as needed.
  • Facilities able to call on evenings and weekends for concerns or questions.
  • Discusses with supervisor when/ if vendor is needed.
• Assists with the setup of new locations as assigned.
• Assists with the repairs and set up of OP locations as assigned.
• Keep list of all items purchased and sent to supervisor at end of shift
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• Two years’ experience in construction and/or home repair
• Facility Maintenance experience preferred

• Possesses working knowledge of household repairs and general construction.
• Knowledge of general cost of repair of all appliances.
• Understanding of functioning and cost of repair to HVAC systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and must maintain appropriate communication with direct reports and supervisors.
• Manage challenging and crisis situations in a calm, confident manner and appropriate role modeling to others in doing the same.
• Must demonstrate tact, initiative, resourcefulness, professionalism, enthusiasm and a non-judgmental and positive attitude.
• Demonstrate ability to research the best cost when purchasing.
• Must dress in a professional manner and have a professional demeanor in all interactions internally and externally.
