We'll also need this paralegal to calculate child support, and create an inventory of marital assets and liabilities, as well as other tasks. The Applicant should be experienced in drafting and answering discovery, as well as be proficient in math and Excel spreadsheets. The ideal applicant should be a highly-organized professional with great attention to detail who has knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure as it pertains to discovery, and the Texas family law system. We Offer: • Casual, Half-day Fridays • Tuesday Lunch-on-Us • Team Collaboration on client matters • Instruction Full Benefits: • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Vision Insurance • Life Insurance • Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance • Retirement Plan • Paid CLE • Paid Time Off • Bonus • EAP Program Responsibilities: • Draft legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, notices • Draft requests and responses to interrogatories, disclosures, production requests under the guidance of a lawyer • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Meet with clients to gather information about their legal documents • Create a Marital Inventory of Assets and Liabilities • Calculate child support, equity, and other numbers • Prepare Exhibits • Obtain court policies and procedures • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits Qualifications: • 5+ years Paralegal experience; Family Law experience preferred • 5+ years experience in drafting discovery per Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Family Law • Type at least 50 wpm • Work well with numerical data • Attention to detail in all work assignments and work with excellence • Meet deadlines from written and verbal instructions • Work overtime at least 20% of the time and be flexible in order to complete tasks • Exhibit honesty, courtesy, and professionalism • Work well with team collaboration • Strong oral and written communication skills Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 yearly
