    Job Summary We are seeking a Dishwasher who will be responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.

    Responsibilities

    Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils using manual or mechanical methods.

    Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely, ensuring proper handling and care.

    Sort, stack, and store cleaned items in appropriate storage areas, following established guidelines and safety procedures.

    Assist with kitchen organization by maintaining a clean and tidy work area, including the dishwashing station and surrounding areas.

    Empty trash containers regularly and dispose of waste according to established protocol.

    Maintain cleanliness and functionality of dishwashing equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed.

    Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operation, assisting with basic food preparation tasks when required.

    Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, and adhere to sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination.

    Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and address any issues or concerns promptly.

    Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and demanding environment, showing a stron commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction.

    Qualifications

    Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.

    Ability to handle a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

    Strong physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot and humid environment.

    Basic knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.

    Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Effective communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.

    Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the establishment.

    Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
