__THE ROLE
We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven, curious candidate for our summer internship. As a QA Automation Engineering Intern you will be supporting our ongoing QA effort to deliver high quality products to the hands of our customers. You will be working with the QA team and learning to use different automation testing tools, helping us to increase our automation coverage and effectiveness.
In addition, you will work within an agile team as a dedicated QA Engineering support, learning their processes, gaining exposure to our development and testing methodologies, learning our tech stack, and gaining insight into how the Dispatch products work.
This is a temporary non-exempt role that reports to QA Manager. Summer interns will work 30-40 hours per week from May 22- August 18.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Define testing strategies (manual, automation, etc.) that ensure superior quality for released features
Exhibit a high personal commitment to quality, implementing development, and testing best practices.
Effectively partner with QA Engineers, Product Management, Software Engineers and embed into the agile team to groom, plan and test projects
Learn to Develop test plans that cover all functional and non-functional (usability, scalability/load, security, etc.) requirements for a given project and that meet the overall testing and quality assurance goals of the applications.
As part of a scrum team, participates in continued development and evolution of the testing framework
Participate in special projects with other teams

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering or a related field at an accredited college or university
Software development experience or training in a programming language like Ruby, C#, Java, or PHP with a strong desire and interest in automation testing
Solid understanding of different kind of software testing methodologies and SDLC
Basic knowledge of Automation testing tools like Selenium, BDD, Cucumber, Appium and Postman
Practical understanding of Devops practices (CI/CD)
Proactive, able to work independently and take instructions, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast moving environment focused on results
