Transportation Dispatch Manager – Confidential Search (Tampa Area)

A well-established transportation organization is conducting a confidential search for a Dispatch Manager to oversee routing, driver operations, safety compliance, and day-to-day transport performance across a regional operation. This is a leadership-level role supporting a mixed fleet environment that includes bulk/liquid operations and containerized freight.

What You’ll Lead

• Direct daily oversight of dispatchers and professional drivers across a multi-site operation
• Monitor and track deliveries, assignments, and performance using modern dispatch, ELD, telematics, and camera systems
• Analyze route performance, load times, and service metrics to improve efficiency
• Ensure full compliance with DOT, HOS, safety protocols, and internal operating standards
• Partner closely with operations, terminals, and customer teams to maintain high service levels
• Support driver hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
• Coordinate routine and major equipment maintenance needs with fleet leadership
• Participate in container scheduling and documentation for outbound and inbound overseas shipments
• Conduct regular on-site presence (approx. 30–35% travel within the region)

Ideal Background

• 3–5+ years in transportation dispatch leadership or fleet operations
• Experience working with tankers, bulk, or containerized freight
• Strong DOT/HOS compliance knowledge
• Skilled with routing systems, ELD platforms, and transportation technology
• Confident communicator with the ability to lead people and manage change
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
