    Job Summary

    The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring all shipments, pick-ups, and deliveries are executed accurately and on time. This role requires strong communication, multitasking ability, and experience working within a fast-paced trucking or logistics environment.

    Primary Responsibilities

    40% – Customer Communication

    • Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding delivery updates, scheduling, load status, and general inquiries.
    • Maintain professional, timely communication to ensure customer expectations are met.

    25% – Driver Coordination

    • Communicate directly with drivers regarding assigned loads, routes, pick-up/delivery details, and schedule changes.
    • Provide clear instructions while maintaining proactive communication throughout the trip.

    15% – Dispatch & Warehouse Coordination

    • Collaborate with drivers and warehouse teams to schedule pick-ups and deliveries as needed.
    • Support load planning and resolve conflicts or delays to keep freight moving.

    15% – Monitoring & System Management

    • Monitor driver activity to ensure required check calls are made.
    • Update trips, statuses, and load details in TMW Suite and related systems to maintain accurate operational records.

    5% – Administrative Duties

    • Complete additional administrative and operational tasks as assigned.

    Work Environment

    • Office-based dispatch environment within a regulated pharmaceutical transportation operation.
    • Requires strong attention to detail, real-time problem solving, and consistent communication.

    Tools & Systems Used

    • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
    • TMW Suite & TMW Operations
    • PC Miler
    • PeopleNet or similar ELD/telematics systems

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    Experience:

    • 2+ years of dispatching experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or fleet operations (required).
    • Experience supporting regional or over-the-road drivers, preferably in a time-sensitive or regulated environment (pharmaceutical, food, medical, or high-value freight is a plus).
    • Hands-on experience with dispatch software, telematics systems, or routing tools.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of DOT regulations, driver hours-of-service (HOS), and compliance
    • Experience working in industries requiring high security or temperature-controlled product handling
    • Familiarity with TMW Suite, PC Miler, and PeopleNet systems
