    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher/Yard Foreman to join our team. This role is essential for coordinating deliveries, managing driver schedules, managing lumber yard employees and ensuring efficient transportation of lumber, hardware, and building materials to customers and job sites. The Dispatcher will oversee logistics, optimize routing, oversee and coach yard employees and maintain clear communication with drivers, yard employees and customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Delivery Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule deliveries, ensuring timely arrivals to customers and job sites.

    Driver Coordination: Assign routes, track driver locations, and communicate order updates.

    Yard Management: Ensure yard employees are following procedures, working efficiently, and maintaining the highest level of service.

    Routing Optimization: Plan efficient delivery routes, balancing customer needs and fuel efficiency.

    Load Management: Ensure trucks are loaded correctly and efficiently to maximize delivery effectiveness.

    Customer Communication: Provide delivery updates and resolve scheduling issues professionally.

    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure delivery operations adhere to DOT and FMCSA transportation regulations.

    Record Keeping: Maintain accurate dispatch logs, route assignments, and driver reports.

    Safety & Compliance: Monitor delivery schedules and ensure drivers follow company safety policies.

    Team Collaboration: Work closely with yard personnel, warehouse teams, and store management to ensure smooth logistics.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    Experience: Previous experience in dispatch, trucking, or logistics preferred.

    Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with lumber, hardware, and building materials is a plus.

    Technology Proficiency: Ability to use dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and routing tools.

    Communication Skills: Clear, professional interaction with drivers, customers, and management.

    Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage schedules, optimize routes, and track deliveries.

    Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of DOT and FMCSA transportation laws and scheduling regulations.
