PLEASE NOTE: This is a 15 - 18 month contract position
Position Summary
The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will ensure the successful processing of bi-weekly payroll. In addition the Payroll and Benefits Administrator will provide guidance and support to our various internal client groups regarding payroll compliance and benefit coverages. An while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with managers, directors and our executives.Duties & Responsibilities
Execute all payroll functions and affiliated activities on a biweekly basis, in cooperation with the finance department
Participating in and leading benefit reviews, providing information on costing and suggesting changes to support a competitive benefit offering meeting the company needs
Respond to employee inquiries on benefit package, claims process and assist in resolving benefit claim disputes
Review of billings for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies with the benefit provider as needed
Participate in the year end processing, including preparation of T4s
Assist in compensation change decisions, providing insight and direction on company structure, researching market information and ensuring legislative compliance
Maintenance of salary grades and pay scale structure, including annual or other periodic updates.
Review of current employees to ensure compliance with changes and legislative requirements
Review pay scales and market research to develop compensation proposals, implementing changes as needed
Performing market comparisons and making recommendations for changes to salary and hourly compensation packages
Management of benefit program for North American employees including benefit enrollment and terminations, enrollment changes and changes to employee deductions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or other relevant field required
MUST HAVE At least 1 year of experience with Ceridian Dayforce payroll systems
At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience processing payroll, with a combination of hourly and salary staff
Demonstrated ability to apply interpretive analysis using logical, evaluative and professional approaches to define problems, collect information, determine facts, and develop effective solutions
Ability to provide flexible coverage to meet the needs of 24/hr operations
Must be highly organized, attentive to detail, accurate in execution of all duties
