About the Role
Katz Coffee is seeking a Distribution Manager to lead our delivery operations, keep our fleet moving, and ensure our liquid love reaches customers across Texas and beyond—on time, every time.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can pivot from big-picture route planning to jumping behind the wheel when the team needs it, and genuinely cares about the people, processes, and vehicles that make it all happen.
Responsibilities
• Plan, optimize, and manage daily delivery routes using route planning software to maximize efficiency and meet customer expectations
• Schedule drivers based on business needs, order volume, seasonal demand, and time-sensitive deliveries—ensuring the right people are in the right places every day
• Manage, support, and hold accountable a team of delivery drivers, fostering a safety-first culture and high standards for customer service
• Run a route when needed—this is a roll-up-your-sleeves role, and no delivery is beneath you
• Oversee the full fleet of company vehicles—coordinating preventive maintenance, repair scheduling, inspections, and keeping detailed records to minimize downtime
• Produce fleet maintenance and performance reports for leadership, tracking costs, repair history, and vehicle health across the full fleet
• Manage technology tools and platforms used by the driver team—training staff, troubleshooting issues, and identifying improvements to support day-to-day operations
• Monitor driver performance through telematics—tracking safety metrics, route efficiency, idle time, and delivery accuracy to identify coaching opportunities and drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
• Passion for Coffee & Customers: We all share a love for coffee and are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences—internally and at every stop on the route
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience managing delivery drivers and distribution or transportation operations
• Route Planning Software: Hands-on proficiency with route planning tools (e.g. OptimoRoute, Circuit, Samsara, or similar)
• Fleet Management: Experience overseeing vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, and managing fleet documentation and reporting
• Telematics: Comfortable using telematics platforms to monitor driver behavior, safety, and route performance—and using that data to coach and improve
• Tech Savviness: Confident managing and supporting technology used by drivers in the field—troubleshooting devices, apps, and platforms as needed
• Leadership: Strong communicator and motivator who can build accountability, develop talent, and keep a team aligned under pressure
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required and a clean driving record
• Problem Solver: Resourceful, proactive thinker who identifies issues early and brings solutions—not just problems—to the table
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset and low ego—ready to support a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no task is beneath anyone
