    District Partners is engaged by a leading global manufacturer of asphalt machinery to help them hire an Accounting Manager.  This role collaborates closely with the Controller to engage in strategic financial planning, conduct annual budgeting, pursue working capital enhancements, provide monthly financial forecasts, conduct variance analysis with detailed explanations, perform product margin analysis, oversee inventory accounting, facilitate physical inventories, and prepare annual tax packages.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee general accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledgers, and sales tax.
    • Assist with quarterly and annual financial audits as well as the annual corporate financial controls audit.
    • Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all financial statements.
    • Foster a supportive environment for staff through performance assessments, goal setting, continuous training, and nurturing employee relations.
    • Adhere to relevant employment law guidelines.
    • Produce reports as required by regulatory bodies upon request.
    • Aid in the execution of month-end closing procedures.
    • Consolidate financial results and format them according to corporate standards.
    • Develop financial forecasts for the Company.
    • Carry out financial analysis as needed.
    • Manage general ledger maintenance and closing procedures.
    • Compile financial statements and additional reports mandated by the SEC.
    • Coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts as directed, maintaining pertinent records.
    • Audit financial controls to spot potential deficiencies and suggest remedial actions for SOX adherence.
    • Address management inquiries concerning financial outcomes.
    • Support standard cost accounting practices.
    • Review and reconcile account statements.
    • Conduct financial statement reviews.
    • Engage with auditors, partake in company audits, and provide required documentation.
    • Promote a positive Company image through professional interactions with peers, customers, and management; maintain a professional demeanor and follow the Company's dress code.
    • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
    • Execute tasks according to directives from Corporate, the President, or the Controller.
    • Uphold all company policies and procedures consistently.

    • Advance and educate others on the Company’s core values, mission, and vision statements.
    • Accountable for directing the accounting team. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing Accounting Administrators, Accounts Receivable Clerks, Cost Accountants, General Accounting Specialists, and Accounts Receivable Specialists.
    • Exercise supervisory duties in line with the organization's procedures and relevant laws. Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, training, work assignment and management, performance evaluation, rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving conflicts, ensuring compliance with employment law, and consulting with the President, Controller, and/or Director of Human Resources when necessary.

    Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
    • A minimum of five years of pertinent experience or training.
    • A thorough understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills at all company levels.
    • Advanced IT and business systems acumen, with experience in automated accounting and/or ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
    • Exceptional reading, analytical, and interpretive skills to understand professional literature, documents, and regulations. Competency in report writing, crafting business correspondence, and developing procedure manuals.
    • The capacity to effectively communicate information and answer queries from various groups, including managers, clients, and customers.
    • A meticulous and detail-oriented work approach with proficient time management.
    • Logical reasoning skills to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • The ability to comprehend a vast range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagram forms while handling numerous abstract and concrete variables.
