Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred
- Specialized training and knowledge in school counseling, social work, psychology, trauma-informed practices, mental health, education, etc.
- 5-7 years of work-related experience
- Intermediate computer skills
- Meets all health and physical requirements.
Job Goal: To provide consultative and direct services to preK-12 counselors, principals, teachers, and students to ensure the development and implementation of services that will meet students' needs with a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and well-being.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not an exhaustive list)
- Attend training and /or meetings as directed.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Work with district level administration to define processes and procedures for initiating threat assessments. Provide professional development to school staff and administrators on district threat assessment processes and procedures.
- Coordinate school-level threat assessment team meetings; serve as a district-wide liaison for school-level threat assessment team members.
- Case management of high-needs students including those referred to school-level and district-level threat assessment teams.
- Serve as a liaison to a broad range of community agencies and practitioners; work with these entities in coordinating services for students.
- Implement early identification and referral systems as a means to provide support services for students.
- Assist with Crisis Intervention/ Student Support as requested.
- Will collaborate with the Hawkins County Schools Special Education Department regarding behavioral support services.
- Assimilate and submit all required forms, data, and reports in a timely fashion.
- Work with the administration to provide reports as needed for various administrators, district teams/committees/groups.
- Provide training to parents, community agencies, student groups, and educational staff members, addressing the promotion of positive mental health principles related to educational success.
- Create and work collaboratively with other departments for the integration of district-wide social and emotional learning education as aligned with the district's strategic plan.
- Use data to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of programs and recommend adjustments to the SEL program if necessary.
- Participate and facilitate a variety of meetings including case reviews, school climate student leadership team meetings, multi-agency staffing, and other related meetings.

Terms of Employment:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
