    We have open positions to fill at a local floating dock manufacturing plant in Castle Hayne, NC.

    Temp to Hire for the right candidates after probationary period. 

    Requirements of the Dock Builder:
    *Reading, writing, verbal communication, and math skills required.
    *Must be able to read a regular Tape Measure - not a cheater tape
    *Candidates must be able to read a tape measure and pass a pre-employment Tape Measure & Counting Test - Must score 100% (count from 0-1 in 1/8ths & 1/16ths)
    *Must be able to pass a pre employment drug screen

    Responsibilities of the Dock Builder:

    • Work in a partially outdoor work environment.
    • Use tools such as hammers, hand drills, drill presses, and impact drills.
    • Training & testing on tools and machines used will be provided. Previous experience is required.
    • Sweep and perform other clean-up duties.
    • Move heavy materials periodically. Up to 50 pounds alone or more with help.
    • Stack lumber.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
    • The employee will be exposed to extreme cold or extreme heat semi-regularly.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Ability to follow guidelines and lead other team members.
    • Extreme attention to detail required

    Additional Requirements of the Dock Builder:

    • Steel Toed Boots required. The employee must provide their own.
    • Previous Carpentry Experience or similar 2+ years
    • Must be able to follow instructions from supervisors. Must listen and be respectful.
    • Safety-minded attitude.
    • Willingness to learn and eagerness to work.
    • Great attention to detail.
    • Positive attitude and hard-working.
    • Dependable transportation.
    • Great attendance and punctuality.
    • May have to stand for long periods.
    • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
    • Ability to work Overtime as needed.

    Carpentry, Roofing, Construction, or Trim & Remodeling experience will be a benefit in this environment.

    The ideal candidate will possess their own steel toe boots and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

    Benefits for the Dock Builder upon hire with client:

    Holiday & Vacation Pay start immediately upon hire.

    Hours & Pay of a Dock Builder:
    Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:15 PM (extra hours as needed)
    some Saturdays 8 AM - 2 PM
    Lunch: 45 Minutes (unpaid)
    Starting pay is $16.00 - $17.00 an hour DOE
