Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our Marine Construction Team. In this role, you will ensure the human resources function operates smoothly and efficiently, providing maximum value to the company and all employees. Your responsibilities will include recruiting new employees, onboarding new employees, organizing training opportunities, develop safety procedures, administering employee benefits, and creating company HR policies. Additionally, you would be responsible with scheduling meetings and appointments, making office supplies arrangements, greeting visitors and providing general administrative support to our employees. The ideal candidate is an excellent problem-solver with strong verbal and written communication skills and a committed team player. Work hours for the position are 8 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities
Assist in the recruitment and hiring process
Onboard new employees
Create training materials and opportunities for understanding HR policies
Administer compensation and benefits
Educate employees on HR-related topics, including leaves and compensation
Assist in performance management tasks
Collect human resources data and provide summaries and reports to management
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources or related field
Previous experience as an HR Generalist, Safety Coordinator, or related position
In-depth knowledge of human resources policies and labor laws
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR databases
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
