    Position Overview:

    Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt is seeking a full-time, Docketing Specialist in one of the following offices: Portland, Bend, or Salem in Oregon, Seattle or Vancouver in Washington. This position will either be fully in-office, or a hybrid position, working in-office Tuesday through Thursday while working from home Monday and Friday. ‎

    The Docketing Specialist is responsible for calendaring in a wide array of practices, with a primary focus on litigation docketing. They need to be highly dependable with the ability to provide excellent customer service under continuous ‎workload and daily deadlines.‎

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Enter dated events into the firm’s docketing software (CompuLaw).
    • Update and/or remove outdated docketed events as necessary.
    • Review and verify information prior to input into docketing software.
    • Apply knowledge of court rules to analyze court documents and incoming docket requests to determine appropriate calendaring.
    • Provide docket reports on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
    • Maintain record of work performed in the firm’s document management system.

    Requirements:

    • At least two years’ experience working in a legal services environment (preferably litigation, ideally litigation docketing).
    • Two years of college or a combination of education and experience, that ensures the ability to perform the job.
    • Knowledge of CompuLaw or other docketing software a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent computer skills, including data entry, and some knowledge of online court rules research.
    • Proven attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, management, and co-workers.

    Familiarity with court rules in some or all of the state jurisdictions in which we primarily practice (Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and California). This includes state and federal civil courts, as well as bankruptcy and appellate courts.
