The firm is seeking an experienced Docketing Supervisor to lead its centralized docketing function. This role is essential to safeguarding the firm’s litigation operations by ensuring all deadlines, court rules, and procedural requirements are captured accurately and managed efficiently.
As a Docketing Supervisor, you will oversee a small team responsible for maintaining the calendaring systems, monitoring rule changes, processing court filings, and supporting attorneys in multiple practice areas across the firm’s national platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all docketing operations, ensuring accurate and timely entry of deadlines and court-related events while applying relevant federal, state, and local court rules.
- Lead, mentor, and develop docketing staff through training, quality control, workflow guidance, and performance management.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and practice leadership to support effective case strategy and ensure consistent adherence to firm procedures.
- Administer, maintain, and improve docketing software and calendaring systems, upholding firmwide compliance, risk-management standards, and deadline-audit protocols.
- Drive operational efficiency by identifying process improvements, implementing best practices, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex or sensitive docketing issues.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of docketing experience in a large law firm or similarly complex legal environment.
- 5+ years in prior management or supervision
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local court rules and procedures.
- Experience with automated docketing and rules-based calendaring software.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to accuracy.

- Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels, and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.
- Remote role — local residency required. Candidates must live close enough to commute to Chicago when needed.
