    About the Role

This is a niche legal-technology role focused on automating legal documents and streamlining workflows across practice groups. You’ll partner directly with attorneys to build, test, and deploy intelligent document templates. The ideal candidate has a background in transactional law, legal operations, or legal tech—paired with experience in automation logic using tools like Contract Express or HotDocs.

This role requires both legal acumen and technical curiosity—and is well-suited for someone with a JD, paralegal certification, or in-depth exposure to legal document workflows.

    What You’ll Do

    • Collaborate directly with attorneys to automate standard forms and templates used in client-facing matters

    • Scope, build, test, and maintain intelligent legal templates using document automation platforms

    • Create user-friendly digital questionnaires to drive accurate, efficient document generation

    • Coach attorneys on markup best practices and template structuring

    • Translate legal language into structured logic for automation (if/then logic, conditional text, loops, etc.)

    • Own documentation, version control, and quality assurance

    • Track projects through internal systems and provide updates to stakeholders

    • Troubleshoot automation errors and provide creative coding fixes

    • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for automation initiatives across the firm

    • Ensure user access, security levels, and template libraries are organized for scalability

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. or paralegal certificate strongly preferred

    • 2+ years in a legal or legal tech environment (law firm, corporate legal, or ALSP)

    • Prior exposure to document automation platforms (Contract Express, HotDocs, or similar)

    • Expert-level Microsoft Word skills (styles, fields, cross-references, formatting logic)

    • Ability to break down complex legal docs into reusable components and apply logic

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to teach, advise, and partner with legal teams

    • Comfort juggling multiple deadlines across diverse practice groups

    • Prior experience in template libraries, structured content, or forms workflow a plus

    • Willingness to work off-hours occasionally for high-priority deployments

    Why This Role is Unique

    • Opportunity to work at the intersection of legal services, automation, and innovation

    • Visible role impacting the efficiency and quality of legal output

    • Specialized team with deep support from attorneys, legal ops, and tech

    • Ideal for someone seeking to blend legal expertise with technical execution

If you're legally trained, detail-oriented, and thrive on designing smarter ways to work, this could be your next move.
