Position Title: Document Processor
Type: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, 8 hour shift

The Document Processor (Loan Processor) position is responsible for thoroughly examining loan applications and preparing documentation for the next phase of the loan application process.
Our ideal candidate possesses a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, effective communication skills, is goal-driven, and has a strong working knowledge of the policies and requirements set in regulation. The primary responsibility of this role is to process all incoming loan documents and prepare them for underwriting.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Receives and completes processing of all incoming loan documents.
- Reviews and proofreads documents for accuracy.
- Ensures loan validation documents are complete and valid according to policies and requirements set in regulation.
- Accurately prepares loan applications and supporting documents for underwriting.
- Answers incoming borrowers, co-borrowers, and lender calls, obtains reason for calls, and transfers calls to the appropriate business associates.
- Attends all meetings and training courses as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Experience in the student lending field is preferred, but not necessary.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Thrives in role that requires superior attention to detail and follows precise, “by the book” documentation and loan application procedures.
- This position does not interact with external customers. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication is essential with internal teams.
- Expertise in customer service and problem-solving.
- Possess decisiveness, demonstrated attention to detail, and sharp proofreading skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of CRM software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in proofreading, editing, and document validation is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
