    Pay Band: $14.00 - $18.50 / hour

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Operations Shift Leader who thrives in a leadership role within a fast-paced, pet-centered environment.

    Position Summary

    The Operations Shift Leader is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for the daily coordination of all departments, including daycare, boarding, grooming, and front desk operations. This individual will ensure all facility areas are maintained to company standards, team morale remains high, and services are delivered with care, professionalism, and consistency. The role requires strong communication, leadership, organizational skills, and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare and operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership

    Oversee the day-to-day activities across all functional areas, including the kennel room, playrooms, grooming areas, mop room, laundry, bathrooms, and lobby.

    Coordinate playgroups, feedings, potty breaks, medication administration, grooming, and rest times per daily schedules.

    Coach and mentor new team members in accordance with our defined processes and procedures.

    Ensure the safety, health, and happiness of all dogs in our care, identifying and reporting any concerns promptly.

    Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Gingr (client software), including feeding logs, behavior notes, incident reports, medications, weight, icons, and guest profiles.

    Client & Guest Engagement

    Run the new client leads report and follow up within 24 hours, assisting with registration, explaining evaluation procedures, and scheduling appointments.

    Conduct dog evaluations and re-evaluations, communicating results to pet parents and providing Welcome Bags.

    Deliver high-touch client service at the front desk and upsell services or packages as appropriate.

    Create and send daily report cards and birthday greetings, and contribute to a consistent social media presence.

    Facility Cleanliness & Maintenance

    Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all operational areas, including suites, grooming rooms, play yards, potty areas, and break areas.

    Conduct weekly equipment inspections, report issues, maintain a log, and coordinate vendor repairs or replacements.

    Monitor and track facility supply inventory; reconcile invoices, manage returns, and submit ordering needs to the HR Manager.

    Team Coordination & Culture

    Assist team members as needed to maintain shift efficiency and positive morale.

    Provide daily playgroup assignments, set expectations, and support team performance.

    Collaborate with the General Manager to manage labor effectively and maintain staffing coverage, including being on-call for emergencies or short staffing.

    Administrative Duties

    Maintain the integrity and accuracy of Gingr data across all departments.

    Update information boards and documentation systems regularly.

    Assist with shift coverage, open/close responsibilities, and rotating on-call support.

    Represent the business as a listed contact for the building’s alarm system.

    Requirements

    Minimum 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role in pet care, hospitality, or customer service.

    Strong understanding of canine behavior, safety, and enrichment.

    Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

    Excellent multitasking, time management, and decision-making skills.

    Comfortable working in a physically active role (lifting, bending, standing).

    Proficient with software tools; experience with Gingr is a plus.

    Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
