Job Title: Dog Groomer Location: It's A Dog's Life Resort & Spa, Wixom, Michigan Job Summary: It's A Dog's Life Resort & Spa is seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our dedicated team. Our facility provides a range of services, including dog boarding, daycare, enrichment, and grooming, all aimed at ensuring the well-being and happiness of our furry guests. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, a strong grooming background, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to both pets and their owners. Essential Responsibilities: Grooming Services:

Perform a variety of grooming services, including bathing, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and haircuts, tailored to each dog's specific needs.

Assess each dog’s grooming needs and provide recommendations to pet owners regarding grooming styles and maintenance.

Never perform any grooming services without the client's knowledge and approval

All grooming services are to be well documented in the dog’s notes in Gingr

Client Interaction

Upselling your services is an essential part of this position.

Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and address any concerns or questions.

Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Safety and Care:

Ensure the safety and comfort of all dogs during grooming sessions, using appropriate techniques and equipment.

Monitor dogs for any signs of stress or discomfort and adjust grooming practices accordingly.

Facility Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and organized grooming area daily, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working condition.

Follow all safety and health regulations to provide a safe environment for pets and staff.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members to coordinate grooming schedules and ensure a smooth workflow.

Assist with the training of junior groomers or grooming assistants as needed.

Sales and Upselling:

Promote additional services and products to clients, such as specialty shampoos, conditioners, and grooming packages.

Participate in marketing efforts to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a dog groomer, with a strong portfolio of grooming work.

Certification from a recognized grooming school or equivalent experience is preferred.

Knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming techniques, and appropriate handling methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple grooming appointments efficiently.
